Purpose of the site

PlaceAffaires is a classified-ads platform connecting Québec business people. "Looking for" and "Offering" listings are published by members. PlaceAffaires is not a party to the exchanges or agreements between members and acts neither as a broker, nor as an agent, nor as an adviser.

Member-published content

Each member remains responsible for the content they publish and warrants that they hold the necessary rights to the text and images they upload. Listings are moderated: we may refuse, take down or delete any listing that breaches the law, our terms of use, or a third party's rights. To report content, write to [email protected].

Intellectual property

The PlaceAffaires name, logo, visual identity, copy and source code are protected under the Canadian Copyright Act. Any reproduction or reuse, in whole or in part, without written permission is prohibited. Listing content remains the property of its authors, who grant us a limited licence to display it on the platform.

Limitation of liability

We strive to keep the site accurate and available but cannot guarantee it. PlaceAffaires cannot be held liable for damages arising from use of the site, from member-published content, or from business relationships formed between members. You are responsible for verifying the identity and solvency of your counterparties before committing.

Personal information and cookies

How we handle your personal information is described in our privacy policy, which complies with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector ("Law 25") and with PIPEDA (Canada). The site uses only essential cookies by default; optional external content is loaded only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.

Commercial messages

In accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we send newsletters only with your consent. Every mailing identifies the sender and includes an unsubscribe link. Emails relating to the operation of your account (verification, security, messages received) are not commercial messages.

Language

In accordance with the Charter of the French Language, this site is offered in French. An English version is provided as a courtesy; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Governing law

This notice is governed by the laws of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute shall be brought before the competent courts of the judicial district of Quebec, Québec.
